Eagles – Darrell Olive

Highly experienced and as dedicated as ever, Darrell Olive joined the Eagles late in 2015 and comes in as our junior coaching coordinator.

Born in Kogarah New South Wales in 1950, Darrell moved to the Gold Coast in 1978 where he trained with Gold Coast United before signing with Twin Towns on the advice of a persistent Peter Donnelly.

In 2017, Darrell enters his 55th consecutive year as a player or coach, starting in 1962 with the Caringbah Rangers under 12’s in Sydney.

The rest of Darrell’s career is a story of years of dedication, hard work and sacrifice to the game he loves – you won’t find a more passionate and involved coach.

Always ready to coach teams that desperately needed a coach, Darrell would put up his hand and take the challenge, selflessly putting his love of football above all else.

Darrell was always of the opinion that he was fortunate for what the game has given him, truly humble indeed.
