Nerang Soccer is lucky enough to be holding a free Grass Roots Coaching Course at our club on the 26th April from 530pm to 730pm – open to parents and coaches, managers and assistants for U6, U7, U8 and U9 levels.
The course will be run by Jason Maguire, the Regional Development Officer from Football Gold Coast. This course will enable our coaches (and our parents and helpers) to better educate our young players this year and in the future.
This quick and easy course is practical and encourages the coaches to develop practices based on fun and enjoyment of the game for our little players. The emphasis is on natural development, ie learning to play football with enjoyment and interest.
It will be about placing less emphasis on strict and technical coaching but more to focus on organising fun football exercises as being the key to helping players build a love for the game – if the kids don’t love playing football and learning it, then they are less likely to develop strong connections and passion for the game as they develop in later years.
The coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips on how to build a better footballer.
If you yourself have never played before or are new to the game, the course is a great place to start, and best of all it’s FREE!
We are encouraging as many parents, coaches and aspiring soccer leaders to participate in this generous opportunity to gain some skills, all of our kids will be better off for it.
As a pilot program Jason is opening this to all parents of our Under 6s to 9s – we as a club thoroughly support this idea to help educate our parents better understand the rules of football and what goes into coaching our young players. Maybe there’s a future star coach in some of you as well!
