In a special ceremony, held last night at the Nerang R.S.L. and Memorial Club, Eagles President Brad Davies and our club’s own Mel Jeffery were presented with another strong show of support.
The cheque presentation reaffirms the R.S.L. Club’s commitment to the Nerang Soccer Club as a major sponsor and incredible supporter of grassroots junior football in the area.
Flanked by two of our junior players, the Nerang Soccer Club contingency were greeted by Division 5 Councillor Peter Young who was pleased to be part of the special moment, offering much praise for both the Soccer Club’s positive growth and the R.S.L. Club’s generous contribution.
“Nerang Soccer Club has over 400 juniors this year, and it’s a credit to all of the fantastic volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes to make it all happen there,” Cr Young told the entire R.S.L. Club’s patrons during his brief speech over the P.A. system.
Nerang Soccer Club President Brad Davies thanked the R.S.L. and said the money would go a long way to purchasing and maintaining vital equipment and facilities used by the club, especially for the benefit of our many junior Eagles.
On behalf of the club, all of our players and members, our staff and volunteers, coaches, mums and dads, families, supporters and spectators, the Nerang Eagles would like to thank the R.S.L. for their extremely generous support for the club, and we look forward to the future thanks to the contributions today, and in the past, the R.S.L. has put into our club.
We would also like to say an extra thanks – this being a most sacred and special week – to those serving today, the veterans and all past service men and women of Australia and New Zealand for their everlasting sacrifices and contributions to our nations, and also to the Nerang R.S.L. for hosting and organising such a fantastic ANZAC Day march and dual-services this year which saw thousands flock together to Nerang Street in remembrance and respect for all ANZACs, past and present.
