The 2022 Pan Pacific Masters Games Football has wrapped up competition this afternoon, following an incredible week of action at Nerang Soccer Club which many have labelled the best Games yet!
Almost 90 teams from near and far descended onto Glennon Park to contest this years Games, with some seriously spectacular displays of football, friendship and fierce competition across the entire week.
With various men’s and women’s age groups, the event featured a broad mix of players from their 30s right up into their 60s and beyond, bringing a wealth of skill and passion to the field in each game, or when that ran out relying on experience and little bit of grit instead haha!
After a week of near perfect football weather, today’s Finals Day saw the top 48 teams battle for the podium and a medal finish, with five games going down to the wire in clutch penalty shoot outs.
Congratulations to all of the competitors for what has been an exceptional tournament from start to end, and a massive thank you to all of the volunteers, staff, referees, officials, sponsors and supporters for making it such a success — we’re already hearing of many teams starting to plan ahead to the next one as well!
