REGISTRATION HELP / FAQ
I’m not sure if my child is Miniroos or Juniors, which do I choose?
Please double check the above STEPS as there are some slight differences.
For Play Football registrations — Miniroos is U6s to U11s and Juniors are U12s to U18s.
For the second part in Squadi — Miniroos is U6s to U12s and Juniors are U13s to U18s for 2026.
Ages and corresponding years of birth are in the chart above on this web page.
It says I need ID to prove who my child is
Please tick the Student ID or Birth Certificate ID section to proceed. This will go through to our club admin as part of your registration, and Nerang Soccer Club will advise if you need to show this to the club at a later date. You do not need to upload or share any identity documents during your online registration process.
I can’t find my child in my Play Football Account
If you have a parent account and your child has previously registered with Football Australia, but their existing account is not appearing in your account, you may need to go to “Family Management” in the menu, follow prompts and relink your child’s existing FA account to yours. You can do this for multiple children.
I forgot to or couldn’t enter my Qld Government ‘Play On’ voucher during Squadi registration part
If you have a valid voucher, please bring it into the club admin at a later date and see admin staff to activate your rebate, or you can email it through to nerangsoccerclub.treasurer@gmail.com with your request to have it processed, be sure to include the details of your player you wish to apply the voucher to.
Do I need to register with this process for the U3 to U5 Eaglets Program?
No! That is not part of this system. Details regarding the Eaglets program for 2026 will be announced at a later time.
Why have the U6s and U7s fees increased this year?
Nerang Soccer Club is committed to improving our foundation and discovery age experience for our newest players, and as such, we are looking to deliver a higher quality and more structured development and training environment this year for these players. We recognise the importance of early player development and building strong foundations in the game for this important group, and will be investing in these changes to benefit the kids. This may include the introduction of a new training program administered by more experienced coaching staff, to guide players and parents and enhance the experience for the players.
Exceptions or allowances for ages?
In some exceptional circumstance a player may be permitted to play up one age group, however players are typically required to remain in their age groups as per Football Queensland policies. In some girls divisions, players may be permitted to play down or up an age group depending on the situation. Any players requiring to play outside of their normal age bracket MUST get permission from the club, and each application is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please talk to your coaches and/or contact club staff to enquire regarding this.
Coaches & Managers Wanted
Each year we are looking for a handful dedicated coaches to join our existing coaching crew guiding a team. Football knowledge is a great start however not required for our younger ages groups, just a good sense of leadership and patience. Parents and older siblings (16+) welcome to enquire, and we’ll have support on hand to assist you in your coaching journey. Must have a current blue card or working with children equivalent – if you need a blue card we can help you arrange one. Contact Fred (details below) to enquire.
Do you have payment plans or similar for registration?
The Play Football fee component is not covered by any payment plan. If you wish to discuss options regarding split payments or payment plans for the Squadi fee component (Football QLD and club fees) please contact our club administrator asap BEFORE registering and paying on Squadi. Contact Mel – nerangsoccerclub.treasurer@gmail.com or come and see one of our office admin staff once the clubhouse opens in late January or at the sign on days. Payment options are considered on a case-by-case basis and may not be available for all.
When does the season run?
Training resumes Tuesday 3rd February for all junior teams, with the season running from March to late August and Early September, depending on each team’s age level and competition formats, finals etc. Teams typically break for school holidays. Training is typically Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30pm to 5:30pm for U6 to U12/13 teams and 5:30pm to 6:30pm for U13/14 to U18 teams. Training times are TBA and are subject to each individual team make up and available space/personnel.
Team/Player Gradings
Grading of teams and players will apply for all teams from U8s and upwards, with grading sessions to be undertaken at training in the first month or so of training. Grading players into different teams is an important process to ensure players are more likely to be part of a team of like-skilled players and play in a competition that best fits their level of skill and physical capabilities — this process is of significant benefit to young players in the game, ensuring they get the most enjoyment and positive growth within the football environment.
